Part of the GW collection, one of the most special E36 M3s around. This 1997 BMW M3 is an enthusiast owned since new example that has undergone a ground up build while in our ownership in the past 8 years. What started and served as a garage kept highway mileage daily driver replacement, it received the full medley of E36 maintenance and upgrades ending with the S54 swap by Bimmerheads to bring it to its final iteration and how it sits now.

The car was acquired into our collection in 2017 with 217k miles and the swap was performed in late 2018 at 225k miles. Currently the odometer reads 249k miles with over 20k miles since the swap, but don’t let the mileage fool you, the car presents as if it had 40k on the odometer. The engine and engine management work was performed in collaboration with us & Bimmerheads, the go to shop for classic BMW’s. The S54 received a complete refresh and reseal with new rod bearings, Vanos systems, euro cooling system, timing, ignition, fuel, electronic, plumbing and accessory components. The underpinnings have all been addressed with complete maintenance and key elements of upgrades consist of the ST XTA suspension, Brembo 996 front and rear big brake upgrade, which all sits on a set of E36 period correct BBS LM089s. This E36 is also equipped with OEM exterior aero which includes the GT wing & LTW front splitter. Contrary to E36 fashion, the interior of the car is in impeccable shape. The original sedan seats were replaced with coupe Vader examples, the very rare S54 Z3M instrument cluster was sourced and used for canbus retention and true E36 S54 cockpit views, most panels and touch points retrimmed in genuine Alcantara 9002 fabric including headliner, pillars and accent trim.

Along with the thorough attention to detail this car received its whole life, over the top maintenance in our ownership included new A/C systems, wheel bearings, steering rack and linkage upgrade, front subframe reinforcement as well as all bushings and rubber components underneath. Routine fluid changes have been performed with Motul fluids as well. 

The car is free from any body blemishes including dings or dents. The paint has been consistently well cared for and maintained with proper corrections, exterior moldings and trims are flawless, the interior is free of any rips or tears and all electronics work as they should including central locking with remote keyless entry. 

After 8 years I have decided it’s time to part ways and allow another enthusiast to enjoy future ownership. This car needs nothing besides a responsible new owner to enjoy it in good health and continue its history.
